It doesn't look too large in size looking at the size of the sissors compared to the bag. I also like that it has sterile medical equipment in it should I need it.

The point of the syringes etc is so that if I need treatment I can ask them to use my equipment so that I know that it is sterile.
But don't you think its better to be safe than sorry? I am going to be about 7 or 8 hours away from any private hospitals.
if this sign £ means dollars i think its to expensive
you could just make your own aid kit
other than that yea i think the kit is great
if you need you should put some important medicine it it like Tylenol or Advil

Iodine Solution Diluted
An Iodine Solution that is properly diluted is Betadine. Any fresh wounds should be flushed out with this solution.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Only use Hydrogen Peroxide to flush deep wounds or punctures only.
Neosporin and Nolvasan or Fura-zone
These are topical antiseptic ointments that fight bacteria and promote healing. These should be used twice daily after a veterinarian has seen the wound.
Saline
Use to flush wounds after using anti bacterial washes and before wrapping.
Sterile Gauze Sponges
Use these when cleaning the wounded area with a Diluted Iodine Solution.
Sterile Gauze Roll and Self-Adhesive Tape
The Self-Adhesive Tape holds the Gauze to the wound. The tape is easily applied and removed. A few good brands are: Kling, Elastikon, Flexus and Vet-Rap.
Blunt-tipped Bandage Scissors
These come in handy for removing bandages.
Topical Eye Ointment
Non-steroidal Eye Ointment comes in handy when a horse injures his eye, and a veterinarian is not immediately available.
Rectal Thermometer
Use with a string attached to prevent loss into the rectum or dropping and breaking it.
An adult horse's normal temperature is between 99.0 and 101 degrees F. A foal is usually between 100 and 102. You should have some alcohol in your first aid kit to disinfect the Thermometer.
Electrolytes
For use if dehydration is suspected.
Other Supplies That Should be Included:
Cold packs instant type for first aid
Disposable diapers (2 or more for bleeding)
Knife is useful for many things including cutting rope and bandages etc.
Latex gloves
Lubricant like ky jelly to aid thermometer insertion.
Scissors
Tweezers
Digital thermometer
Duct tape
Hoof Pick
Fly Lotion
Wire cutters
Electrolytes
Flashlight

im planning a short trip along the coast of england with my friends and we are hiring a boat.
the "captain" (family friend) is letting us have it free if we help sort it out.
we have repaired repainted paid registration fees and the like (iv just been a bit of labour unsure on rest)
but we have been told we need to buy a trauma first aid kit.
we were told a standard first aid kit isnt enough on a boat because of additional risk.
items to be kept on hand should include: tweezers, elastic bandages, medical tape, fever thermometer, precut triangular bandages for slings or splints, safety pins, scissors, tongue depressors, antiseptic spray or cream, antidiarrheal drugs, antihistamine drug, adrenaline pen, and assorted bandages and dressings
we have bought a first aid kit we beleived was complete but have been told we still need to buy antidiarrheal drugs and an adrenaline pen
any help will be great
Adrenaline pen's (as far as I am aware) cannot be bought over the "counter" and need to be perscribed. Antidiarrheal drugs can be bought at any pharmacy, not sure on the cost.

I think for Christmas it'd be a good idea to make a list of things from a local tack shop as equine first aid. Can you provide a complete list of what I need for a basic kit, as well as a brief description of it's purpose? Ex: Halter - if your other breaks, use this one. Thanks!
1. Triple antibiotic ointment for putting over cuts/scrapes.
2. Clean water for rinsing out wounds.
3. Gauze for over wounds.
4. Vet wrap for wrapping wounds.
5. Standing wrap (pillows and bandage wraps) for support.
6. Rectal thermometer, with string and clip.
7. Stethoscope for checking pulse and respiration (also, gut noises if horse is colicking).
8. IF you are EXPERIENCED in giving injections banamine for when the horse is severely injured and needs relief immediately (wait for your vet's okay though).
9. Tranquilizers are good things to have when traveling, if something goes wrong and the horse won't calm down it can be extremely dangerous.
Hello dog section,
Recently where ever we seem to go there is a dog being attacked, yesterday there was a attack between a SBT and a Springer Spaniel. I was wondering what people carry in their dog first aid kit?
I have;
Latex gloves,
Hibiscrub,
Bandages,
Butterfly stitches,
Glue - dog friendly (recommended to me by my vet),
Syringes,
Scissors,
Fire blanket,
Water,
Surgical tape,
Minor wound cream (again recommended by the vet),
Eye cleaner,
Tweezers,
& In the back of my car I have a 3 peaks sponge mattress in the boot.
Is there anything else I need to add? I find it all easy to replace when it runs low which is a good thing but I'm not sure its 100% complete.
I have never taken a first aid course but I was advised by my vet to always carry a first aid kit and it was pretty wise because a few days after he suggested it my dog was attacked and butterfly stitching the top of his eye prevented huge damage.
:)
EDIT@HUSKYLOVE: Yes I take all my dogs to the vet where they can get professionally treated if majorly injured BUT if you happen to be walking your dog and your vet cannot fit you in (exactly what happened to mine so I had to find an emergency vet who couldn't see him for an hour hence why I butterfly stitched his eye) its always handy to have something with you.
Same thing I have in my human first aid kit - everything you posted, plus lots of gauze, a lighter, ect. I also have children's benedryl in my kit for allergy emergencies.
ADD: Guess I should have read the answers first! You people must be city slickers - here in the boonies, it's an hour and a half drive to the nearest emergency vet on the weekend. Don't you think a dog could bleed out in that amount of time? At least you're prepared if you have a kit and can try to at least slow the bleeding. What if you're hiking and your dog falls down an embankment and cuts himself up?
