The death toll has risen to 12,000.
This so sad, we are so lucky to be alive, I can't even begin to imagine what it is like to be there and not know where your family is at, or not know if you will even eat to be alive tomorrow. Maybe I can export a container full of first aid kits and canned foods. I just dont know how to go about this, I dont want people thinking that it isn't ligit and that I'm keeping the money or food. How do I do this so that its credible, and people would want to help. Thanks in advance for your answers.
I work in the import and Export industry here at LAX, so I know how to export containers without any problem. Its just starting the whole thing...
Talk to churches, schools, community centers, the Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc. They probably can give you information on who to contact as well as a list of items that need to be shipped. Good luck and THANK YOU!! :)

I'm wondering if they're just not covering it on the news because they don't want to cause panic. But from watching the world earthquake activity, it seems odd that the 04/04/2010 Baja earthquake is having so many strong aftershocks. Not to mention they're all nearing the San Andreas fault which is long overdue for a quake. I did put emergency water and first aid kit in the trunk of my car, but I'm wondering how serious of damage the San Andreas earthquake could cause in Southern California.
I would love to hear an honest opinion from anyone who's familiar with this field of work.
I'm also curious because there's a website where earthquake predictions are made (by people who study the earth movement and heat etc.) and they have an extremely accurate amount of earthquake predictions. They even predicted this last one in China. On the site it predicts Southern California to have a magnitude 4.3 - 6.3 earthquake between now and April 21st.
So if someone would like to check that site and tell me what they think as well.
I appreciate any comments.
here's the earthquake prediction website...

The San Andreas fault isn't fully capable of producing earthquakes larger than probably a magnitude 7.4 on its own. There is evidence that the Cascadia subduction zone which is in Northern California is connected to the San Andreas fault, and causes the major earthqaukes that the San Andreas fault has. In particular the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, which was possibly a 8.2 in magnitude. The San Andreas fault couldn't produce that kind of earthquake on its own. Some people believe that, if the San Andreas fault actually did produce a "massive" earthquake on its own, that it would be followed by another major earthquake in the Cascadia subduction zone, which would be far worse.
Honestly, I'd be more worried about the subduction zone rather than the San Andreas fault. The subduction zone produces a major earthquake every 300-600 years. It's already been 310 years. If it produced another earthquake today, It would cause major destruction throughout all of the Pacific Northwest, and it would send a tsunami to Japan. There is already a 14% chance that the Cascadia subduction zone will produce a earthquake greater than 9.0 in the next 50 years. People shouldn't take this lightly.
As far as the websites for earthquake predictions, there is a website called quakeprediction.com (the guy who runs this site is the one who claims that there will be a massive earthquake in California this week, I guess we'll find out.)
