what is the basic first aid for electric shock? Science h/w?

you can get it from any site information for these question thank you. and it is my Science h/w

1)what is the basic first aid for electric shock?

2)what is the basic first aid for eye damage (chemical or foreign body)?

3)when it might be dangerous to give first aid?

4)why is it useful to have a firt aid qualification, what local organisations provide training and how to contact them?

5)detailed bibliography of the research carried out into first aid in a scientific place.

1. Turn off the power or move the person away from the source of the electric using something none conductive like a piece of wood....then check for pulse and breathing.

2. Use lots of water to wash the eye to dilute any chemical check for foreign body....remove carefully, if unable to remove use material such as cotton wool to bandage to eye and remove casualty to hospital...do not prod about.....

3\ When you could put yourself in danger, such as on a busy road without protecting the scene, or railway line etc.

4/ It is useful because you never know when it may be necessary to give first aid and some knowledge is better than none at all, you may be in a remote area where you are the only one able to help....you can contact the St Johns Ambulance service for training.

First Aid for the following Situations in the Laboratory?

thermal burns
Fire from burning Reagents
Contact with an acid
Contact with a base
Contact with an Organic Substance
Chemicals on eyes
Minor cuts
Poisoning (inhalation and Ingestion)
Electric Shock
Burning Clothing

Contact with any chemical usually requires dousing with water for at least 15-30 minutes. A fire blanket should be used for a clothing fire. Electric shock victims should be stabilized if possible before calling 911. Thermal burns should be placed under running cool water. Burning clothing victims should be placed in fire blanket. Hope these help.

what emergency medicine do i buy for my cocker spaniel puppy?

ive got a 8 week old cocker - im just a new hyper owner so i want to know in advance what emergency first aid and medicines i should keep

for falls
for a broken limb
for burns
for electric shocks
for other dog bites

for choking

what else - the more exhaustive the better

The most important one is to get a refrigerator magnet where you can fill in the name, address and phone number of your nearest emergency vet :)

Most of what you listed would require vet attention. There's nothing wrong with keeping some Neosporin on hand as a temporary wound cleaner, and then maybe some bandages and tape, but you probably have this in your med chest. Never try to set a suspected broken limb - you can turn a bad sprain into a compound fracture without even realizing it.

Some people also give Pepto Bismol in small amounts, but do not do this unless you've gotten your vet's input on it and also know the situations where it would be dangerous. Pepto treats symptoms, rather than underlying disease, so if the pup has something more serious than a simple case of the trots, it can mask the symptoms and suddenly you have a real emergency on your hands.

And I totally agree with whoever mentioned either vet insurance or else making sure you have access to ready cash in the event of an emergency. Fortunately, most of us don't need this or only once/twice, but it can add up into the hundreds for an emergency, and these hospitals are snarky about getting prepaid, so it's important to do this. Weekends can be so scary when you know your regular vet isn't available!

How should I organize these. . . ?

I take all the Emergency guide sections out of Parents Magazine and have them on a clip board next to my first aid kit. I am starting to collect a lot of guides and I want to be able to run to it and know just were to look when I need information. here are the headings for each page. Can you help me put them into categories that will be easier to locate when needed.

Sports Safety

Head Injuries

Emergency Room Prep

CPR for Children

Electric Shock

The Great Outdoors

Preparing for a Disaster

Strangulation and Suffocation

Eye Emergencies

Medicine Handbook for Moms

First Aid for Burns and Scalds

Cold Weather Safety

Holiday Safety

Maybe 2 or 3 different sections to file them under.
Thanks for you help!

I'd do the following thing:

3 color tag category

GREEN for most common and non-critical issues: insect bite, minor burns and cuts

YELLOW for serious injury but not life threatenning - things you can call for help oe even can wait until you get to minor emergency center and let the professionals handle

RED - life threatening or condition that needs immediate attention lest it becomes worst or will have permanent effect.

For RED one, take the articles and reduce them to simple instructions ( short actionable phrases) that any family member can understand so that they can act upon them when required.

Last - relax.
