He fell and bumped his head on the table. the wound was deep, but able to be closed with the bandage. Not actively bleeding, he is acting normal. Don't want to traumatize with er visit if not needed.
I think you need to have a doctor look at it why dont you just call your pediatrician? Unless its the last resort try not to have an er doctor (probably a resident) closing a wound. Call your pediatrician and get his/her advice and then let the pediatrician refer you to a good plastic surgeon only!Hope it works out, take care.

I cut my whole arm up w/ a razor (kinda deep cuts) (on purpose sadly) and forgot to clean it I just put a gauze wrap on it its been on for 2 days and the blood and stuff attached itself to the gauze. Now if I try to remove the gauze it hurts really badly and starts to bleed again I can't take the gauze off cause it hurts. How do I clean it and get the gauze off and then once the gauze is off to stop the bleeding? Please help. And no lectures just please tell me how to clean it my friend who's (trained in medical stuff) told me to go to the doctor if to clean it but I don't wanna cause then ima get sent to a mental hospital. Thx
Soak it in water until it releases.

i cut my ring finger on a lino cutter (scalpel) 3 days ago and its still bleeding
the cut is deep and originally was pouring with blood for 2 or 3 minutes then calmed down still bleeding alot for about 10 minutes and now is bleeding like a mild cut apart from it isnt because it aches even when im not touching it
it has been covered with a plaster for the past 3 days because its very open and doesnt look like its heeling
what do you think i should do?
it is about an inch long
on the top third on the side
it was covered with a plaster because it was done at college and it meant i could carry on with my work
To stop the bleeding wash it with clean water and dry it using a clean towel. Pressure should be applied to the cut with your fingers, if the cut continues to bleed. If it is still bleeding then put on a dressing and use some tape to keep it in place and go to your doctor. The doctor will then decide if the cut is deep enough to need stiches. I hope your fingers is alright soon and I helped a bit :)
A few days ago we moved into a new apartment, and I have this set of six plain-edged mirrors I had to buy for a college project once. I've kept them around because I thought I could use them for decoration and just never got to hanging them, and usually I keep them high/put away, but because we just moved I had them in a corner. We then put our laundry bin in front of it and I forgot abou them.
So I was letting my rats free-range in my bedroom, and I knew they were playing in the blanket in that corner but I completely forgot about the mirrors. A few minutes later I picked up one of my boys and realized he had this GIANT gash on him. At first we thought it was an abscess, and when we realized it was fresh thought he had fought with the other boys (although we hadn't seen it and had been in the room the whole time). Then we realized...the mirrors. And the cut is very clean, so it can't have been claws.
However, he seems COMPLETELY unfazed by this. He let me get right in the cut to clean it out with some warm, salty water, and then licked it a bit himself but has otherwise been ignoring it. It didn't really bleed except it oozed blood a bit when I rinsed it. He is showing zero signs of pain, he's being a complete spaz and running everywhere. We set him up in a separate cage so that he would hopefully calm down and stop stressing the wound and 20 minutes later he's still monkeying around at the top of the cage and launching himself into the hammock to swing and stuff.
The wound is scary looking but I don't think it's too deep (not sure how I'd tell the difference between muscle and regular tissue though) and it's probably just less than an inch long, what worries me is that it's near his back thigh so it keeps opening up when he monkeys around.
Aside from taking him to the vet (which... I can't do... I have fallen on hard times and am looking for a 2nd job, but at the moment can't even feed myself. The boys are set, they have a years' supply of lab blocks, but a vet trip is out of the question)... what else can I do? Is the saltwater okay? We don't have neosporin because my boyfriend is allergic, which is why I was using sea salt water. Was separating him the right thing to do? What else can I do to help him? :/
I'm going to be monitoring him really closely for changes in behavior/in the wound but in the meantime, for tonight and tomorrow, I just need some short-term solutions.
And also just to clarify I'm 100% horrified with myself for not realizing that some freaky ass mirrors were just waiting to cut somebody in my room, I can't believe I left them out and I hate myself for overlooking something so dangerous. WHILE I was watching them play. I say this because PLEASE don't criticize me right now, that's why I came here and not goosemoose.
Never ever ever ever again.
why would u have a rat? and dont worry u can get a new one
accidently sliced the left hand pinky... i ran it under cold water for a little applied pressure. got some gauze and bandaged it up, i repeated once. but its been in about a 2/half hour prosess. cut isnt really deep and the width isnt really big. the bleeding slowed down a tad bit last switch. I no i should go get stitches but that could take hours at the ER room. just trying to avoid an unecessary trip to ER
Lay down and hold your arm up in the air. Ensure that the bandage around wound is firm, but not completely restricting blood flow to the rest of the finger. If you feel faint, nauseous, disorientated, dizzy or you go pale then call an ambulance immediately.
