so i've had this cat about 3 years and she never leaves the porch (she's a good cat). about 2 days ago, my neighbor was walking her dog on the "walking trail" and her dog came into my yard and mangled my cat. i did file a police report, they came over once, but haven't called since. don't understand why, because there's a leash law, and the owner was NOT walking her dog on a leash >:(. i've had my cry, but it's been suppressed by anger now. anyway, she's still alive, and i do NOT believe in euthanization, just because if someone or something is still alive, there IS a chance of a miracle happening, you know? so i do not believe there is internal bleeding or broken ribs, but if someone knows how to check for these, could you tell me?. also, i believe at least 2 of her legs are broken, but their badly cut. should i wait to splint them until her wounds heal, or should i go ahead and do it (I'm too poor to take her to a vet). Her tail still moves, so i'm pretty sure that it's not broken either. I've been giving her pain medicine, but i've had to force feed her, and sometimes have had to make her drink water. at first she would drink but, idk... she can move somewhat, we thought she might have had convulsions, but it really doesn't look like it. She uses two of her legs to move, and uses the crook of her front legs to steer... i really would like some help. and i apologize for this not making any sense, i'm a little shaken to tell you the truth...if anyone can think of anything else i missed, please mention it. i love my cat, and i would like to help her.i don't know much about first aid, so if someone could help me, please do so. sorry this is so long...
she does go to the bathroom. so i know her bowel movements are working and there is no blood in it either. Whenever she does go to the bathroom on herself, she does move out of the way...good sign?
thank you for all the answers, but for those of you who wish for the other owner to pay, i'm with you. but the owner has already said that they cannot pay us, but believe that giving us "apple pie" and "cat food" will help... i doubt they will pay. but i will find someone to help with the fees. appreciate everything :)
Dear Sarah, I am greatly sorry for your cat. I have had the same experience with my cat, only we don't know for sure if it was a neighbor's dog or not. Anyway, I think you should press the dog's owners to pay for the vet bill. Your cat needs medical help. You don't want it getting infections or anything. I know how hard this is for you, so I want to give you a cyber hug! :P You have my up most sympathy and if you want me to I will totally pray for your cat if you want me to.

my friends rabbit got convulsion...the vet gave her a jab....what would be the possible reason for her to get convulsion...and what is the first aid could be given before taking them to the vet
your friend should ask her/his vet about that to get a reliable answer. but rabbits can sometimes have convulsions because they are anxious or too much stimuli is surrounding them. too much noise and similar elements may cause convulsions.
I'm asking it for my Niece, She's 2 and suffering from fever, when her body temperature significantly increases (upto 103°F) she gets into 'Febrile Fits' then We don't know what's the perfect first aid or therapeutic way to make her normal or afebrile.
[We've get her to Doctor, having precaution and medicines for to keep her fever level low, I've searched almost internet for the on time things to do for to make her normal but couldn't find that simple and used to ways of treatments that may you know?]
Staying on top of her fever. Checking it frequently and keeping tylenol or motrin in her system. Keep her lightly dressed (no fleece blankets or clothing) and hydrated. This link will tell you how to handle the child during the seizure http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth /PMH0001975/
Hii, im 16, male and am going to admit it, i dont eat much at all, could even be anorexic,( IM not here for that, as i have agreed to some therapy if it ever happens again, I promise yu and my teacher )
Anyway, 2 days ago, i didnt eat much, i had one meal, and felt oki. I had never had this happen before by the way. I also took 300mg of caffeine in the form of tablets. Then went to bed, day over. Then was yesterday, most EMBARRASSED moment of my life, i hated it. Day started off normal, going to college to do a first aid course, i had my 100mg of caffeine and 2 anti histamines with a drink (im cautious so i always have anit histamines as i have severe nut allergy) Then i noticed i was getting severe stomach aches, but i was used to them, as i could always handle hunger. But this was different, and was starting to feel sleepy too, i then took 2 more caffeine pills. Then half an hour later, Woww it was all a blur, i started feeling weird, sweating etc, i almost passed out on two other occasions, and it felt like that, everything went in slow motion, i thought it was anaphylactic, so i reached for my bag and took one more, next everything went grey, hearing went, thats it. About 7 secs later i come around, still sat on my chair, everyone staring at me, hands over mouth, with the first aider asking me am i ok. I then went outside with him, and was slightly sick/vomit. Then just sat down for a bit, then felt better. I felt ok then, went back and did the rest of the course, but everyone stared at me again. Turns out, i thought i just fainted then came around, EVERYONE else said that i was shaking like having a fit, i said Noooo, that couldnt have happened, but 4 people said it did. I thought at first a fit or seizure, but its likely to be a convulsion. Then i put it all together, not eating that morning, and little the previous day, too much caffeine over working my heart, i was bound to crash. I put all the symptoms together and came up with Hypoglycemia and Neuroglycopenia. I went to college today, although i took some lucozade just in case, it helped a bit i guess.
But that honestly was scary, people are afraid of me now, i hate it. I just laughed tho, said yehh so what.

If i ever feel as bad as that again like i did a bit today, what do i do ? It said on the internet 15g of sugar, in the form of teaspoon or can of pop etc. Even a glucose tablet over the counter. Whats the best way, DONT SAY EAT !!!!!
I'm underweight and I shake a lot too. I sometimes feel like I will pass out. It has to do with lack of nutrients. Even though you're in college, that doesn't qualify you as a MD even they know better than to diagnose themselves, so go see a doctor.
Tonite i was with some ppl, and did shrooms for the first time. i believe i od. It was shroom kool-aid (ab 3 coffee cups and it was so POTENT!. Im not proud of this and its been about 7 hours now since this happened. The guy i was with told me i passed out 3 times and was having major convulsions. I dont remeber, all i remeber is waking up with him slapping the shit out of my face, and all i wanted to do was just go back to sleep. I felt like i was dying. What could of caused this and should i be worried right now. I mean im scared for the shire fact blacked out and feel weird. Is this normal? What could of caused this? One of the guys when i was totally out it in a krazy state of mind (about 1hr after blackout) having halluinate effects, said death cap? ive been trying to research this on the web rite now but am finding nothing. Im never doing this shit again, i did it once and got what i wanted (to haulicinate) and more which was so scary... How should i feel??? Please any help will help. Anybody whos experienced with this help me!!!
What most people consider "shrooms" are mushrooms containing psilocybin or a psilocybin-like substance. A dosage of 3 cups of any of the more common psilocybin mushrooms is nothing short of insane.
People develop a quick tolerance to psilocybin and similar substances, like LSD and mescaline. Your friends may have a massive tolerance, you do not.
If no one else had similar effects, chances are you did OD, and these were not "death caps." Death caps are members of the Amanita genus, which range from non-poisonous to hallucinogenic to deadly. All of you would likely be dead within 48 hours if they were one of the deadly Amanitas, like destroying angels.
The Amanita genus includes the red with white wart mushrooms featured in Alice in Wonderland (Amanita muscaria). I tried these during my misspent youth, and would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
BTW, using wild mushrooms for food or any other purpose is not for novices. You have to spend considerable time learning to identify them. Some of the poisonous ones look similar to the edible ones, and every year people die from their lack of knowledge in this area.
